Awards for Excellence: Mike will pass the baton on to 2019's business person of the year

Utmost Wealth Solutions is sponsoring the award for Business Leader of the Year Isle of Man Newspapers’ Awards for Excellence.

The awards are a fantastic celebration of the success the island’s businesses, organisations and individuals achieve here and on the international stage.

They also reinforce the diversity of talent and opportunity that exists on the Isle of Man.

Utmost Wealth Solutions has had a presence on the Isle of Man for over 25 years as a leader in the island’s international life assurance sector, so it is fitting that the company is sponsoring the Business Leader of the Year Award.

It’s even more fitting that Mike Foy, chief executive of Utmost Group Isle of Man, and last year’s Business Person of the Year, will be passing the baton to 2019’s winner.

Mike said: ’Since our change of ownership and rebrand in late 2016, we have been focused on creating the leading cross border life assurance business, generating opportunities here on the Isle of Man and in the other jurisdictions from which we operate.

’We are going from strength to strength, building a financially strong and sustainable business for our customers and creating development opportunities for our staff.

’While Utmost Wealth Solutions transacts business internationally, we take our commitment to our community extremely seriously. We do this through many sponsorship and support activities.

’We are the main sponsor for Team Utmost Isle of Man Swimming, who excelled at this year’s Island Games in Gibraltar topping the leaderboard, with all team members winning at least one gold medal. It is this dedication to success that drives us.’

Utmost Wealth also nurtures talent within the business via an active information systems (IS) intern programme with University College Isle of Man (UCM).

A number of IS interns have recently secured permanent roles within Utmost and have the opportunity to develop their careers and flourish in one of the industry’s leading businesses.

They are perhaps our future business leaders.

Mike Foy said: ’We have a clear mantra to support growth, opportunity and ambition.

’This doesn’t just apply to our business, but also to the community in which we have been based for over 25 years. We have been a long-term supporter of the Isle of Man Newspapers’ Awards for Excellence. It is a fantastic way not only to applaud the worthy winners on the evening, but also reward our own "Utmost Leaders", who will attend with me on the evening to celebrate the best of the Isle of Man.’
